Luxury hotel recommendation in Sukhumvit area?

Hi !

I am going to be arriving in Bangkok in a couple of weeks and would like stay in the Sukhumvit area. Does anyone recommend a great 5star hotel in the area? I am a single female in my 30's so am not looking for a "family oriented" or too stuffy place. Somewhere fun where I can go to a spa and go to a great lounge for drinks after....

Thanks for any suggestions!

You can try
Aloft - 35 Sukhumvit Soi 11, or
Sheraton Grande 250 Sukhumvit Road (near Suk soi 12)
JW Marriott
Majestic Grand Sukhumvit (near Suk soi 2 - not 12)

Also perhaps the Sofitel Sukhumvit Hotel, between Sukhumvit Soi 13 and 15.

#3 hardly a 5 star hotel and hardly a great pool. I would also second the Sofitel. New one on the block, not too big, decent lounge.

Another vote for the Ambassador, I know it is not 5 star but I have always found it to be clean and reasonable priced....

Another 5*-place in this area is the Westin Grande Sukhumvit on the corner of Soi 19. Good location at Asok BTS/ Sukhumvit MRT station.

OP asked for 5 stars - what's the point listing others? Ambassador barely rates 3 stars. What it is, is value for money and has big rooms, but it doesn't make the list for OP.

The best listed so far is surely Sheraton Grande.

If you like small and luxury, S31 takes some beating.

It's not 5 star, but a solid 4 is the Majestic Grande. The pool is pretty small, but the morning breakfast buffet (included) is fantastic, and the rooms are beautiful. Very convenient location too for the skytrain.

Hi
As I am familiar Sukhumvit Road, I think these hotels might be best choice for you about location, the mall,Restaurant/bars/Transportations,quite safe area not dark in deep soi.
Here
Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit BTS and MRT Asok station,Terminal21 mall:
The Westin Grande Sukhumvit BTS and MRT Asok station,Terminal21 mall:
Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit - Terminal 21:
I suggest this the hotel it's in Terminal21.Short walk for everything BTS/MRT/The mall. (my personally experience in this hotel's great)
check for more hotel information : http://www.centrepoint.com/hotel/products.aspx
other choices for hotel booking discounts, hope it could save price:

For Spa recommend this Divana walk not too far from MRT: http://www.divana-dvn.com/spa_massage_home.html
hope this helps for your decision.

The Landmark is in the heart of the action.

Somewhere fun
Please define what you think is "fun". It might be the opposite of what I consider "fun".

^^ That doesn't define her version of "fun". I think she wants a place that has a spa and drinks and is "fun", whatever "fun" may be. However, she isn't alone, as many, many posters ask for fun, cool, etc etc places, but never define what they mean. My idea of "fun" is hanging on Walking Street, but I'll bet it isn't the OP's.

However, we'll probably never know, given the OP hasn't bothered to reply to the 10 posters that took the time to respond to her.

Re the pool not being so great ,ok maybe ,not so good for posers and swanning around in , but for pure execise its long enough to clock up a km or 2 ,in lengths .
