1I will advise you to ignore your first response. It's just a local tour operator trying to increase their buisness.
Your itinerary looks fine. 7 weeks should be enough to cover the areas you want see. Unless you are planning on doing some serious trekking in the ring road area, which a great place for it, two weeks might be a bit long. Also keep in mind that it takes roughly two days to get to the North (and back) from Yaounde.

2Best is to travel self, without the guide. I will do it. And I can recommend you Sao Tome e Principe, it is wonderful there, I enjoyed there so much, it is one special place for me, not like one other. Even if I am sure Cameroon will be very nice, exciting etc. I think Sao Tome remains for me really unique place in West Africa.

3I made my comment based upon your post history, which only includes Cameroon and always has a link to the specific tour guide you mentioned.
Given your writing, I'd also be willing to say that you aren't British.

5Yes, how to get to Sao Tome e Principe from Cameroon - that is the question. I remember some here on the forum had the same question. Try to find that thread, type in search box something as Fly from Cameroon to Sao Tome - maybe there you find the answer.
I know that Africa's connection - http://www.africas-connection.com/our-schedule are flying between but I think it is only charter or what. From Gabon it is something also.
Me self I was flying from Lissabon with TAP.
