Vietnam - Cambodia border crossing in Le Thanh/ Pleiku
Hello!I'm going to Vietnam and Cambodia in December and was planning on crossing the border from Vietnam to Cambodia in Le Thanh near Pleiku. I read a few posts about it but they all are very old ad I wanted to know of anybody recently did this trip?
My intention was to leave Nha Thrang in the morning and go to Ban Lung in one day. Any experience if this is possible or if I definetely need to spend a nite in Pleiku?

I guess I haven't written anything on this border crossing in a while. The last time I did it was December 2011 and it made for an interesting story. I'll actually be doing the crossing again in a few days, but everything from before should still hold.I'd say it's best to do in the morning so spending the night in Pleiku is the best option. (My writeup of Pleiku here.)
Get to the border. Ask around for a car making the trip to Banlung. There are usually a few. Should be around USD5. That's how I do it, and will again.

do u know how long it takes to travel from nha trang to pleiku and pleiku to bang lung?
I wanted to cross the border on New Year's Day in order to spend NYE in nha trang as its supposed to be a more touristy place with probably a bit of celebration which I do not expect in bang lung nor pleiku. but have a tight schedule afterwards that's I wanted to do the whole trip in a day...
how long is recommendable to spend in bang lung and surroundings?
and how long does it take from there to get to Angkor?

Nha Trang to pleiku: Dunno. Sounds far.Pleiku to Banlung: It's like 1.5 hours from Pleiku to the border and then another 2 or so to Banlung.
NYE was pretty quiet in Banlung, though a couple of restaurants were slightly bustling. Pleiku might be quieter than that.
Banlung: How long you stay really depends on you. I can't answer that.
Banlung to Siem Reap takes all day, but can be done in a day, as far as I know.

thanks Rasheed for the info! it seems to be really too far to make the whole trip from nha tranh to ban lung in one day so I'll follow your proposal and sped one night in pleiku.
