Entering SA from Bahrain (Visa)

Hello,
I am a German passport holder and I will be visiting Bahrain in December 2012. I would like to visit Saudi Arabia as well and would like to inquire about the possibility of entering Saudi Arabia overland (KF Causeway) with a (transit) visa with a return to Bahrain afterwards (on the same day).
I understand that visa of any kind are difficult to obtain - at least for German passport holders - but I wonder if there is any chance to get one at the embassy in Manama. I already contacted the embassy by mail but did not get an answer yet.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Firstly, a "transit" visa is issue for a country if you are, in fact, transiting it (ie entering from Bahrain, then exiting to Jordan) What you are doing is not a transit, and thus you have no chance in heck of getting a visa. Saudi is one of the least tourist friendly places on Earth. Visa of next to impossible.

Yes, it's a transit visa, not a go-in-briefly-for-no-good-reason-and-come-out-again visa.

And even if you had a legitimate reason to transit Saudi Arabia--if, say, you were an expat working in Bahrain and got a new job in Kuwait--then applying for and receiving a transit visa is a long, difficult process with no guarantee of success.

In other words, just forget it.
