Forgotten hand luggage in Hong Kong airport

For first time in my traveler's life, I forgot my hand luggage. It happened the other day at Hong Kong international airport on the train that was bringing to the departure gate. When I realized I left the luggage in the train it was too late as they were embarking passengers for my flight. Once arrived at home (Barcelona, Spain), I have fulfilled the lost luggage form downloaded from Hong Kong airport website and soon I got the answer from them. They found the luggage and as only options tI had were: 1) go there and collect it (!) or 2) send my lawyer to collect it (!!).
ANyone, who happened to loose his hand luggage at any airport, could tell his experience and give a suggestion on how having back the luggage?

Try talking with your airline. They might bring it on the same flight you were on. I worked for me before in a similar situation.

I'd be pretty sure that "attorney" in this context does not mean a legal practitioner but simply a person you've designated to represent you by signing a power of attorney.
