My friend and I are going trekking somewere in Mococco. I have heard of the Atlas mountains, but I read that it migth be cold now, so I am wondering if you have some good advice? We have a week, and would also like to se the dessert somewere?

We start out in Marrakesh.

Many thanks

.....for week in December you'll find it difficult to do both the Desert and hiking in the Atlas.
Have you got a good guide book yet.

Anti Atlas range around Tafraoute and the Ameln Valley would be best in December.

Agree, you cannot do the desert trip when you have only one week. Even if we skandinaver are used to have cold so maybe it is better to do as Tim says and hike in Anti Atlas :). Tafraoute is wonderful!

...... south of the high Atlas is where you find the best of the weather in December, research on this interactive map... http://looklex.com/morocco/map02.htm and http://looklex.com/morocco/tafraoute.htm
