Round the world in 6 months?
I am orientating on a worldtrip starting september 2013 for around 6 months.Making choices is not my strongest thing so I would like to get some advice.
What would you recommend to do in 6 months?
I am now looking at Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and USA (NY)..
Possible in 6 months? How much would it cost?
What are the best fly options, the city's I choose to fly to and from.

It is a pretty standard route, I know people who have done in it three months (God only knows why).STA would be good place to start for RTW ticket prices.
As for budget, your day to day expenses are going to vary greatly between countries and what you are willing to put up with, so hard to quantify.

Sorry some more information.I am starting and finishing in Amsterdam (ore somewhere close to that).
Then I was thinking about 2.5/3 months in Asia, maybe fly to Bangkok and go to Laos, Vietnam, Cambodja..ore I could go from Bangkok to Bali. Ore maybe fly to Hong Kong and travel to Bangkok ore the other way around.
Then fly in to Australia for around 2 months.
Doing the east coast and maybe a trip to the outback Ayers Rock.
In Australia I really would love to see Great Barrier Reef, White Sunday's and the Outback with Ayers Rock.
Fly to NZ.
NZ for around 1 month with a bus pass. Nature, Whale whatching, Lord of the rings spotting, Maori culture..
Then go to Fiji for around 1.5 weeks and then fly to New York for another 1/1.5 weeks.
On Fiji I just want to see nice beaches, blue seas, snorkelling and relax, maybe some islandhopping. In NY all the hot spots and shopping.
Budget.
Well not to much :p haha..
I am thinking around 10.000 euro's.
I am not a party animal and don't drink alcohol, so I can save some money on that part ;)
I love culture, history, nature...a combination of everything.

Pretty 'normal' route,and not too difficult at all.Fly in to and then then make your way down to Bali overland (and sea) would work well in that timeframe.
Biggest problem would be the budget.
If your 10000 euros has to include flights,insurance,visas etc plus 6 months travel...no way.
Australia,NZ and New York are all expensive destinations...

What would you recommend as budget?Is it easy to travel from BKK to Bali overland?

On the budget...you have various options.The first...
Bring more money.How much depends on many things...how you travel,how fast,where you sleep and eat,how many paid 'activities' you do etc etc.
3 months in SE Asia could be around 3000 euros for an average trip...of course you could do it on less (eg eat street food all the time,not restaurants...no paid activities..etc.
2 months in Oz maybe 5000-6000 more.2000 plus for a month in NZ.
Don't know current Fiji prices.1000 plus for a week and a half in NYC..if you want to shop as well,you could spend a lot more.
That's 12000 already,plus Fiji.Plus your flights and insurance etc......maybe 16000 euros or so?

I got an price for the ticket and if I added New York it wouldnt cost more.So its only extra accomodation/food etc..what absolutly is expensive but its only for a few days.
Need to think about it, haha.

This is my first concept route:London/Amsterdam - Bangkok – Bali – Cairns – Sydney – Auckland – Fiji – New York - London/Amsterdam.
Bangkok to Bali is overland ore maybe with a cheap AirAsia ticket.
Cairns to Sydney is overland and I maybe will book a trip to Uluru but I am not sure if its worth all the money.
