Hi all,
I'm trying to plan a trip to Jarabacoa to go river rafting with some friends. There are about 7 of us in total and we'd like to rent a place where we can all stay for a decent price. Does anyone know of a good vacation rental home or cabin, or even a cheap hotel where we could stay. Ideally we'd like it to cost under $20 USD per person.

I was in Jarabacoa recently and it is a nice smallish town. As soon as I got off the bus, a number of moto taxi drivers (some speaking English) asked me what I wanted. One gave me his card, but I didn't save it. I didn't feel like it was sharky or bothersome at all as the guys were so nice. Of course, if they suggest someplace they are doing it for money. If you arrive early, I don't think it would be the end of the world to just look around and see what is available.2
Yes, ask the moto guys or stop at the tourist information booth if it still exists.I don't remember how much I paid, but I stayed in a cabin at the somewhat posh place uphill to the right just before entering el centro. You'll see signs on the highway, and it's probably in the guidebooks. Nice views, reasonable food, spacious lodging--but somewhat removed from town if you don't have your own transport. I'm guessing you could fit four and negotiate a price.
Hope that helps.
