Where should I shop?

I've got just one evening free in Singapore.

I really need to get some new clothes. Stuff that's appropriate for a 30 something woman to wear to work, not young, trendy stuff.

Can anyone recommend a shopping centre that would be suitable to go to? I'll only have a few hours so I'd really like to hit just one place that has lots of choices. Not Orchard Rd, it's too overwhelming.

Any suggestions much appreciated (I don't really care about location, I'll just jump in a cab).

Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry, I should have been more specific. Not expensive brand name stuff... my work isn't the type that justifies those kind of clothes (or allows me to afford them).

If I was at home I'd shop in places like Target, Rockmans etc. Chain type places that have reasonable, cheap, work style clothes. Is there anything like that in Singapore?

You may also try BHG or OG on opposite sides of Bugis MRT Station.

Suntec Mall in Marina Centre. They really have a good selection there.

Hi purpletreefrog

I would also recommend Suntec, remember that they have 2 department connected.

You can spend 3-4 hours there. Various of interesting shops.

If you are not a fan of Orchard, try this place and also recommend Little India "Mustafa", cheap goods.

Hope this help.

Save your money for home - Target is extremely cheap and we just dont have a comparison.
Mustafa - does not sell work kind of clothes
Robinsons have Coast, Oasis, and lots of local brands which are quite reasonable - what I mean by this a work dress smart fitted type would be about $100 SGD plus up to $200 you may want to decide if this is good proce for you.
If you want local clothes then I would try Far East Plaza (Scotts Rd just off Orchard) - I find it difficult as I am UK 10 and the local clothes are very small so I tend to shop European/Australian mainly Witchery, Monsoon, Top Shop these can be found in Wisma Atria/Takashimaya or Paragon (Orchard) or Raffles City (MRT City Hall) has good choice including M&S and Robinsons

Parkway parade on marine parade road. I usually shop for my office clothes there in isetan, cotton on etc. find it affordable and the quality is good too.
