Don't know where to go in SEA

Towards the end of this February (2013) i am taking my first SEA trip alone for approximately two months, having graduated high school early. If any one would like to recommend cities or towns to visit or avoid i would greatly appreciate the input! Thanks!

clcik here FAQ73

For a 2 month trip, I'd recommend you'd look into:-
Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Ko Phi Phi & Ko Samui
Laos:- Vang Vieng & Luang Prabang
Vietnam:- Ha Noi, Hoi An & Ho Chi Minh City
Cambodia:- Phnom Penh & Siem Reap
Maybe Kala Lumpur and Singapore too

I disagree with #3 itinerary, that is all cities and tourist spots. I would not rush, Feb-March is a good time for SEA, I would go to Bangkok and then either upto Chiang Mai into Laos into north Vietnam and down to the south then into Cambodia and back to Bangkok, allow 3 weeks for Vietnam Or into Cambodia, SR, PP and Kampot then Mekong HCMC and then go north upto Hanoi, Sapa/Bac Ha, then into Laos down to LP, VV and VTE and then back to Bangkok or LP to Chaing Mai and then back..

OP:
What are your interests?
SE Asia has plenty on offer so it would be difficult to give a decent response to this.

#6 Olliwog44:
People not allowed to disagree with you?
Or do you think it is easy to make an itinerary with no knowledge of what the OP wants?

SE Asia has about everything for the tourist; from inland scenery, coastal scenery, architecture, modern cities, older towns and cities, ethnic minority settlements, wildlife, historic sites, cuisine...

Olliwog Blah Blah Blah I'm afraid is not a useful itinary and our OP might mistake Koh Blah with Chang Blah near Changmai and get lost and maybe even shot on the Blahmese border.

Alls I'm saying is that 2 months is not very long. Come with a few major destinations (as figured out by looking at a guide book or something) but otherwise stay flexible.
