Real experiences?

Do we want real experiences within a new country or a tourist bubble to feel safe in?

I want a tourist bubble to fee safe in. I don't want any real experiences within new countries. None!

Hi, do you feel this tourist bubble restricts you at all? I see nothing wrong with it, but i feel is left to adventure on your own you would come across different things?

I prefer seeing, feel of countries in normal mode.

Fiestas etc are not my cuppa.

I stayed in a town 11km from Monteverde, Costa Rica.
Cheaper there than in the aforesaid. tourist Mecca.

I stayed at a bunch of cabinas on a hill.
I went out to get some coffee or cola in the community kitchen.

A young cople was killing time out there.

They said their bed had a mosquito net, which they which they thought would be romantic.

They killed five spiders so far. Another girl checked out at midnight. SA huge spider was hanging over her bed.

Wandering into town, I looked down the road at the cliff face below Tina's Casitas, my home.

World of Insects attraction was right below us.

Good one gawk ;-)

I noticed that too....in the same place as it happened.

Why the hell have they got a 'World of Insects' that costs $10 to enter when the whole place is full of every kind of insect imaginable?

What do you know about either alicewilkes? Define both.

I am not aware (after 5 decades or so of travel) of a 'tourist bubble'. It is simply not possible for one to exist unless you replicate down to the smallest detail, the exact same environment as someone would be in at 'home'. Even staying in an 'all-inclusive' compound type hotel on a beach in Tahiti is NOT the same as staying at home. You will inevitably be exposed to differences. No bubble exists.

This is not the only thread you have started on basically the same subject. What is the point of them? What are you actually trying to find out if anything? Or are you just posting for no real purpose?

I think a tourist bubble is for those who only ccheck-off the most famous museums. And split without time, for a conversation with a local or two.

And maybe stay in Best Western or such. Careful not to get local influence and maybe LEARN SOMETHING.

Yes Toad, you were at risk of seeing/doing/learning something new all the time. Scary thought huh?

I don't see the point of this OP's threads though. Like a kid who found a new toy and is just posting to post with no real reason for doing so. At least not any that I can see. Are my eyes failing me in my old age?

I think it is just a young mind desperate to experience something new and facing the fact that her friends would rather enjoy their holidays on the beaches of Mallorca, Ibiza and Lloret partying instead of exploring new places ;)

Edit: Apparently not, in another thread she was mentioning some research. So maye she is working on her thesis or similar...

Then, dear Alice, if you want some research, please announce it that way. I never like it when this is not done...

What subject you feel passionately about? While you may not be hiding that you are a student, you sure seem to be hiding what it is you are trying to get an insight into. It may be perfectly clear to you what you mean by a 'real experience vs. a tourist bubble' but that clarity exists only in YOUR head. It is not clear what you are asking about to others or at least me.

Define both 'real experience' and 'tourist bubble' and you might have more luck getting opinions.

And your other interest is fashion?

Just hit he outlet malls.

Keeping up with the Joneses, is
measuring your insides by somebody else's outsides.

Tour some garage sales, to see how fulfilling that is.

Gass is always greener.

I am very haughty and I consider anyone else to be a tourist, but not me.
