Where to visit over 14 days in Rajasthan??
G'day thorn tree,Myself and 5 others are looking to spend 14 days in Rajasthan. Beginning with a train from Agra and finishing in Jodhpur where we will fly to Mumbai.
We are primarily looking to experience the Indian way of life, culture, food, people, natural landscape/scenery, flora and fauna, desert treks, mountains etc etc
We would love to hear anyones recommendations :) Also for those who know the area, we would appreciate any advice on routes that allow us to maximise our time as much as possible and/or transport advice.
Cheers,
John

Hey,Possible route to optimise the travel duration:-
Agra->Jaipur->Pushkar->Ajmer->Udaipur->Jaiselmer->Jodhpur
Jaipur: Forts/palaces - Jaigarh Fort, aamer Palace, Hawa Mahal, Handlooms
Pushkar: Camel safari (Aravalli mountain range), temples
Ajmer: Only 14kms from Pushkar...a very famour shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chrishti
Udaipur: City of lakes and the Udaipur palace
Jaiselmer: In the heart of Thar desert, close to Indo Pak border, you can have desert camel safari here as well
Jodhpur: Mehrangarh fort, Umaid Bhawan...
If you have time then visit Chittorgarh Fort, should be near Udaipur if I am not wrong
Cheers!!

Agra to BUNDI (Trainstation&Busstation Kota)marvellous historical place without a lot of tourists, beautiful smallpriced guesthouses in traditional houses in palast-style.bundi have a great fort to visit and so many old hidden roads, where peoplle wish you welcome with smile and not with bakhshish please...Bundi to JAIPUR,take care about "gems-sellers" its an old big scam.
Rent a taxi and go to Temple of Exorcists a awesome experience, about 3 hours travel from jaipur and you can also visit coton-handicrafts and paper-hanicrafts on the way(nice factories)(no sale request)
Rent a car to the next trip to BIKANER trough the Shekawati territories and his art-painted havelis. In Bikaner make a nice camelsafari in the nature and watch animals.otherwise take the bus to Pushkar and freak out in this strange rotten place.
Take the train to Jodhpur and enjoy your colorful neighbours in the train, but would better to continue to MOUNT ABU and relax in this famous Hill-Station with various treks arround the pics.
Then take the Bus to UDAIPUR and enjoy a great place and palace and the lake.
Arround Udaipur you can visit great Hill-Forteresses and temples of Ranakpur.
Udaipur to Mumbai its very easy by train.
Just tell you thats i am a grandmother with 33 years India connection trough work&travel&hotelowner
