Applying for UK Visa, Overstayed Schengen in Past
Hello thereI'm new here and really need your advice.
So here is my story: I'm non-EU citizen, In 2011 have overstayed a Greek visa for a year and got 1200 euro
fine+passport stamped. After that I renewed my passport (cause old one was expired) but did not pay the fine.
Then I applied for German National visa and since 14 months living legally in Germany on a German residence permit. I have travelled in Greece and in another Schengen countries without problems.
Now I'm applying for UK visitor visa in Germany with my new passport and German residence permit.
Is there any chance that they will find out that I've had overstayed my visa in Greece and will they reject my application or ban from entering UK and so on?
Please answer but without lections, I know that overstaying is not fine thing but life is sometimes tough. So waiting for your responds.

It's impossible to say. The only way to find out is to apply.

life is sometimes toughYou make it sound as if it's someone else's fault that you're now worrying that you may not get that UK visa. How old are you?
Anyway, no one here can give you any guarantees or advice other than perhaps an anecdote or two, none of which would be meaningful in any way.
If all goes well, the UK will notice your career as an illegal immigrant, share the information with Germany and then kick you out of the EU immediately - after you paid that Greek fine, plus interest, of course. It's a shame the Greeks apparently didn't properly register your overstay, btw, wonder what's the point of Schengen if the rules aren't enforced.

First of all I would like to thank you for your responds.Fwoggie: The UK is linked into the Schengen Information System (SIS) after it signed the Treaty of Amsterdam in 1997.- I think that I'm not on this database, cause after overstaying Greek National 30 days visa I was back in my country and applied for German visa at German embassy with new passport. If I were in this SIS, German embassy would directly ask me about my immigration history in Greece. But my application was successful and I did get a visa. When I flew to Frankfurt, I thought that immigration officer at passport control would ask me to provide receipt of paying 1200 euro fine for overstaying in Greece, but he did not. Since 14 months I live legally in Germany and travelled twice in Greece and had not any kind of problem. That's why I posted my story here to get some advices.
So, after reading this, what do u think? how high is the risk?

Don't push your luck - you will almost certainly have also received a 5 year ban from Schengen as part of your punishment, you have failed to pay the fine and you are in Germany illegally as you must have lied to gain the German visa.Also people from "not specified" cannot legally get any visa unless they are a stateless person.

alanRPlease read my first post and then the second, I have not lied anything and not living in Germany illegally.
I'm not stateless, I'm from Yerevan, Armenia.

It's seems that you don't have a record on SIS. If you had had one, you wouldn't have been issued with a visa for Germany.Although the UK is not part of Schengen-land it shares information with member states of Schengen-land, but if your aren't on the SIS ban list the buck stops there! I would say apply for a UK visa and see what happens.

If you had overstayed a UK visa, it would not be used as a reason to refuse another one if 12 months had passed since you left the country.Therefore I think there is a low possibility of a refusal based on overstaying in another country, and the intervening time period.
However, if you do not specify the overstay on the application and they consequently find out, you can incur a 10 year ban for deception.

I agree with the previous posts - don´t try your luck too much.My questions would be: Why to you want to go to UK - purpose of your visit there? Is it for fun?
Other question: what type of visa do you have for Germany?

I have got Aufenthaltserlaubnis for Germany. Will have appointment at Visa Application Center in couple of days. I have found an information about that SIS database. I have got so called new elektronische aufenthaltstitel-ID CARD.....with that eAT and my passport can travel for 90 days in other Schengen Countries. So for UK I need visa, that's why I applying for it and already paid 105 euros. Fingers crossed that all will be ok. But I think I'm not on that SIS database, cause Germany embassy in my country would check it definitely and would reject my visa application.13
Still I somehow do not understand what you want to do in London for 12 hours------I'm going to just visit London and try to see the best of it in 12 hours. Have done Disneyland in 10 hours. Where is the problem.14
Ok, have seen your reply. Well, I was just wondering. The bus ride, 105 Euro only for the visa plus the fact that London is among the most expensive places in Europe.That is what I don´t understand. If you have the money I would spent more time there. Anyway, get an oyster card to travel arround. Cheapest possibility.
