Turkmenistan visa

Is it not possible to get a visa for longer than the 5 day transit for Turkmenistan? Where is best place in central Asia to get that visa heading towards Iran. Also how long does it take for visa issuance more or less? Also same where and how long for Uzbek and Iran visa issuances. I understand that visas are no longer required for western passport holders to Krygrystan
best wishes, theworldjog

There have been urban legends of "i know this guy who heard from a guy..." that there was a 7-day transit visa for cyclists. But i've never actually known a cyclist to get one. To make matters worse, there is also a 3-day transit visa that they can hand out if they "don't like you" The visa will take around 10-days to issue. In Tashkent, you can pay for an express that might be done in 5-7 days.

As for the Iranian and Uzbek visas, it depends on your nationality. Many nationalities still require an LOI for Uzbekistan. This could take up to 2 weeks to process. Once you have on, picking up the visa at the embassy takes minutes. It's the same story for the Iranian visa.
