Casa Voyegeur to Airport by TAXI
Hello,I've looked all around but cant find a decent answer so I though I'd try here :)
I'm about to book my train ticket from Marrakesh to Casa Voyegeur. I have very little wiggle room in case my 5:00 am train is late. I can afford a delay of up to an hour but after that things get super tight for the transfer from Casa Voyegeur to the airport.
Does anyone have an idea of how much a taxi would cost for 2 people from Casa V. train station to the airport?
We're on a tight budget.. flying from Casa would save us about $100 USD. If we need to take a taxi and its costly then it may not be worth it to fly from there.
Thank You!

..... one crucial bit of information missing in your post, what time is your flight ?The 05.00h. train arrives Casa Voyageurs at 08.10h. usually/ hopefully.
From Casa Voyageurs every hour a train to the Airport, trip takes 35 minutes,
Nearest train to your arrival is at 08.07h., a little too early, however you might get lucky, otherwise you have two options..... Wait for the next train or from there take a taxi, the cost about 100Mdh. depending on negotiation skills. It all depends on your flight time.
Or locate in Casablanca the night before.
Have you researched on..... http://www.oncf.com.ma

The train comes in from Marrakech on the same line as the train from Casa Voyagers back to the airport and there's an earlier station that you could get off at which I believe is Casa Oasis. So you would arrive at Casa Oasis some time before the train would stop at Casa Voyagers, and the journey from Oasis to the airport is shorter. The only thing I don't know is the certainty of getting a grand taxi, but I would be surprised if there weren't any. It was extensively modernised a few years back with a view to lessening the load of Casa V and Casa Port.

..... for a plan of the railway in Casablanca... http://oncf.ma/OffreDeTransport/Pages/TrainsNavettesRapides/TNRSuccesdAujourdhuiDemain.aspx ...I don't know if the Marrakesh train stops before Casa.Voyageuer, if it does Tim's suggestion is perfect being just one stop short of the Airport. Ask at the Station in Marrakesh if the train stops at Oasis and post back with the information please.5
Thanks for that, moroccotraveler. The green Settat line is the one from Marrakech. This French website says, "A little trick that can save you time: from the airport, get off at the station of Casa Oasis (which is the first of Casa stations) located approximately 10 minutes before the Casa Voyageurs train station, where you wait for the train to Marrakech who then passes (this is the same line at that level). So you get 10 min + 10 min."

First of all all trains going to the airport and to or from Marrakesh / Fes stop at Casa l'Oasis. The train from Casa is due to arrive at about five minutes past the even hour. The train to the airport arrives at l'Oasis at 15 minutes past every hour. You need to change platforms via the underpass. And more importantly you need to reckon with delays on the train. It recently took me 7 and a half hours from Rabat to Marrakesh instead of 4h20.
I should go to Casa the night before to stay at the Ibis just outside the Casa Voyageurs station and hop on the first train to the airport at 7 minutes past the hour after 03.00, except for one at 4.40 instead and none at 05.07!
Or go to Casa, get off at l'Oasis, get a petit taxi to Sidi Maarouf, stay at the Ibis there and get a taxi to the airport.

Yeah, night in Casa would not be a death sentence and would provide you a modicum of peace of mind. Hotel prices are in line, if not cheaper, than Marrakesh.8
Thanks for all the replies. We took the 7:00 am train which was on time!! and arrived at Oasis then transferred to the Aeroport train. No problems at all.. And for less than $20/pp it offered significant savings compared to flying from Marrakesh. Was the journey from 6:00 am to midnight to reach Rome worth it? For a couple of broke newlyweds? Yes!
