Yes there are direct buses from Lanzhou South bus station, about 30rmb from Lanzhou train station by taxi. We were there about 3 weeks ago. Bus costs about 75rmb. Pretty sure you can get from there to Langmusi I but think there's only one bus a day - not sure. The place was full of army and police because of the recent spate of self immolations but we managed to stay at the Tibetan Overseas Hotel. The monastery is lovely and well worth the trip!2
I was under the impression there were a few buses a day. Can anyone confirm the bus times published here? It might be worth contacting the Overseas Tibetan Hotel with any questions about travel in the region.4
no worry about the direct bus, you can get many information in Lhasa, or you may join people who want to be there and I think this is the most conveniecne, popular and cheap way to travel in Tibet, I had been joined people at the last 2 hour to be Evrest Camp Base. BTW, y u dun choose inn in Eight Gallery Street? The location is good and not expensive, u also can choose some inn with Tibet style if u get used the smell~Good luck!
