NGG hotel in Bahir Dar, Watch for scamHi,
NGG hotel is good hotel but watch for people who donot work for the hotel and hand around in the hotel to scam you. I read two postings before that it was part of deal to join a tour if you stay in this hotel. That is not true.
I met an other traveller told me that told me that is not true neither. You donot have to join the tour. The lady works in the hotel speak little English and all other guys hand around the reception area try to trick you to join their tour. When I tried to check the room, one of guy try to show me the room but he did work here and I asked him to go away.

1Exact same thing happened to me at the NGG. A chap claiming to be the owners son showed us the room and said we needed to fork out 500birr on a tour. We then went elsewhere. However i went back the following day and checked in and there was no mention of a tour. I am shocked that the hotel allow that kind of carry on to happen while they sit by and do nothing. Its bad for business and they will loose customers over it.
