I know, that's why I hesitating. Freedom in every sense of the word, to me is important, because it's the source of my creative power. Take Freedom away, I lose my 'magic'.

I still remembered the mental crunches I experienced growing in Singapore (e.g. Singlish evolved from these crunches). And communicating with Management in Singapore wouldn't be easy, as their mind and heart are closed (too focused on BS Propagandas and Bonuses).

You two are fortunate, able to graze on greener and more liberal pastures.
You dont need to earn a living in kiasuland.

Yes, I agree. The thing about KPIs is that it is based on the principle that the interests of the staff and the 'clients' are aligned. In reality, most of the time, the interests are not aligned.

Btw, I was in Singapore for a while during the first outbreak of SARS, and I have seen how people treat each other (even among family and friends). It was depressing. As compared to places like Hong Kong, we are really third world

Actually its not really that bad. We make the best of what we have here.
We've come a long way and sometimes its the price we have to pay for our progress.

But what I know is I do have to work hard for my salary, as most S'poreans I'm sure.

Progress is a very subjective and relative term, u seem like a good fellow, so I hope u're not buying into The Old Man's toxic version of progress and modern day slavery.

Btw, constructing new buildings isn't exactly much of a progress.

As I said earlier, I dont have the luxury that you 2 have.
I have to work within the system, whether I like it or not.

You know how it works here. If you're not with us, you're against us.
So thats why I'm not going there, not in a public forum anyway.

patrick1986, that article's really outdated. Unemployment at 2% ???

Many locals have lost their jobs due to cheap labour imports (who are very often on fake documents and certificates).

Unemployment not at 2%, much much more due to cheap imports of fake professionals.
