Buy a car in Paraguay?

Hi,
We are going to travel around in Argentina, Paraguay and Chile for a few months.
We are planning to buy a car in either Paraguay or Chile, so are there anyone out there who have any experience with that?

We would like buy a van that we can rebuild or some kind of camper.

We are landing in Asunción around the 3th of december 2012.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.. We know that it's a bit harder then in many other countryes. We have found the best prices in Chile aswell, so we'll take the bus from Paraguay to Chile and see what we can find there..

In fx. New Zeeland they have some car markets where back packers and others sell their cars. Have you heard anything about places like that in Chile?

Hola Anne-Sofie!

Buy a car in Paraguay may not be a good idea...
Buy it in Chile is a much better choice.

Saludos!
Andrés

In Paraguay there is cars from iquique, but in iquique you could fine cars in better conditions, cause paraguay import the cars from iquique and the cars have to cross through Atacama desert on a truck
