Myanmar itineray question
Dear all,Since I'm trying to pre-book the hotels can you please help me with my itinerary:
- Day 1, 2, 3: In Yangon
- Day 4: Travel Yangon - Bagan (My queston: Do buses always leave in the afternoon so arrival would be the next morning?
- Day 5: Arrival Bagan
- Day 5, 6, 7: In Bagan
- Day 7: Travel Bagan - Inle, will I arrive on the same day in Inle? I saw that the buses there seem to leave early mornings?
How many days would you recommend to stay in Inle, 2 days?
Mandalay: Is it worth visiting? Or should I stay in Mandalay and visit places nearby?
Lots of questions... sorry and thanks :-)

Thank you Herbie. I will be travelling for ca. 16 days.Do you also recommend to do an overnight in Mandalay?

Yes but depends what you want to do and see? Mandalay inself is not that great but sites around there are worth seeing, and trips from there also.4
I think if I can stay in Mandalay for 2 nights and visit places around I will hopefully be fine.Do you see it the same way? Still don't know what I can see nearby but I'm sure my Lonely Planet book will tell me. ;-)
Then plan to head to Inle Lake for ca. 4 nights.
Never been to Myanmar before and have now the chance to visit at a very short notice.

You can go to Inle first then Mandalay and then Bagan, depends if you want to the boat ride from Mandalay to Bagan. Side trip from Mandalay is Pyin U Lwin and Kyaukme/Hsipaw. Best to look in the LP and see what interests you. Rooms could be a problem.7
You have WAY too much time in Yangon! A day would suffice. Shwedigon is a must, Sule Paya worth a visit, but other than that get out of the city. For me, 2 days in Bagan would have been enough (but it depends just how much you love temples! I love temples, but after 2 full days of seeing one after the other I was kind of templed out!). Inle Lake I dont think you need more than 2 days either (though of course it's personal preference). A day out on the lake is fantastic, but Inle town itself I didnt find very interesting. Mandalay has little to offer (except a trip up Mandalay hill and see the temples near the base - teak monastery & the 'world's biggest book') - aside from that just use as a base to see nearby places like Sagaing, Amarapura, Inwa etc. Couple of days enough.ADVERTISEMENT
