8 Full Days in Taiwan Itinerary HelpI'm planning on spending 8 full days in Taiwan toward the end of January. I arrive in Taipei Friday night and will have Saturday-Saturday to spend in the country before flying back to Korea on Sunday. I'd really like to see Taipei, Taroko Gorge, and Kenting (possibly the sunrise at Alishan, if time/location permits) but am unsure on the best route to take. It seems that getting between Kenting and Taroko is a bit difficult. Would it be wise to do Taroko as a day trip from Taipei?
I'm a 20 something female traveling alone and on a budget. I'll be relying on public transport as I do not drive.
Also, if anyone has hostel recommendations for any of the places, I'd love those as well.

2Getting from Hualien to Kenting isn't that difficult, but it is long, involving a train ride to Fangliao and then a bus trip to Kenting.
As mrblueblue points out, it is possible to do Taroko as a day trip from Taipei, but it would be better to spend the night in Hualien. Also, although you mention you don't drive, both Taroko Gorge and Kenting are best explored if you can rent a scooter for getting around. To do so, it's best to have an International Driving Permit along with your home country's license.
