I am not sure Osho counts as that. But if you have lots of flash to burn and want the Disneyland approach maybe. The publications are of outsanding print quality. Rishikish would be infinitely preferable. But, there is some modest degree of the same commercialism there. The very best places require some digging among the local old hands..

You should defenitely try Auroville in Pondicherry. Auroville as people call it is an international village for people interested in spirituality, yoga, mediation and the likes (Strong international community of people from all around the world).

Pondicheery is an union territory, inside the state of Tamil Nadu. It will be a different experience for you from rest of India. People speak french tamil and english mostly here. Am from Tamil Nadu, now in the states, Pondicherry is one of my most favorite places ever.

Do visit Auroville.
