30 Day Thai Visa in Vientiane
I've done a search on this but can only find threads of people looking to get 60 day visas.I will be crossing from Laos into Thailand shortly and need a 30 day visa for Thailand. My flight is on the 22nd December, I will have proof of onward travel. I am travelling on an Irish passport.
How much will the visa cost in Vientiane and what currency do they require? I've only found out about this restriction to 15 days for overland arrivals and will arrive tomorrow night (Friday)in Vientiane. I had only planned on spending 1 day there and don't want to have to stay until Wednesday just to get this visa. Is it possible to get it in Luang Prabang?
Also, how easy/expensive is it to get the 15 day exemption extended in Thailand?
Cheers

There's only one possible tourist visa, and you'll get a 60-day entry even if you only need 30. It costs 1000 baht and takes two days (monday-friday only). Apply 830am then pickup next day 3pm. Only possible in person at the Thai consulate in Vientiane, not in Luang Prabang. If you enter Thailand visa-exempt and get 15 days (inclusive of the date of entry so it's more like 14 days) you can get it extended 7 days at any Thai immigration office for 1900 baht.
