Caye Caulker Accomodation

Hey friends,
I'm sure this has been asked many a time, but I'm looking for an accomodation recommendation for Caye Caulker. Somewhere I can land a private single room, a place with a bar I could socialize with other travelers, maybe on or close to the beach, perhaps with a pool. My guess is either they are all like this, or none of them are like this lol.

The places we loved don't fit that list but you could search using this forum's search engine and the sites below. Good luck!

there's a "belize bus blog" too, a must-read for belize travellers, set up by one of our most esteemed forum members, misterbee. I'll leave it to your imagination, what the B stands for.

Hey

My brother and I stayed at Colinda Cabanas last Christmas (http://www.colindacabanas.com/index.html)

It was nice and pretty reasonable. It was towards the end of the island (away from the busy part, closer to the airport) but honestly the island is so small..it was probably about a 8-10min walk from Frenchie's Diving, for reference. It was clean, quiet and the quite lovely.

After rereading your post, I realize this might not meet your needs because it doesn't have a bar/pool..but we really enjoyed it because it was so relaxing and quiet....

Hotel Miramar is about as basic as it gets. That's my place. No pool or bar, but you can get a cold beer at a store a few doors down, and suck it down on the upstairs roofed deck overlooking the ocean on front street.

Well, Seaside Cabanas has both a pool and a bar but it's not what you would call a place to meet other young people. Mostly couples and families. We really liked it but it is also not cheap. Insofar as there is a beach at all, Seaside Cabanas is on it.

There are only six or seven places on Caulker with a pool, so if that's a necessity it limits your options. Among the properties with pools are Seaside Cabanas, Caye Caulker Condos, Caye Reef Condos, Island Magic and Iguana Reef Inn.
