THE HEART OF BRAZILIAN FOLKLORE

Dear friends,

Here is a link for those interested to feel the mood of the authentic brazilian folklore.

The Parintins festival happens in the middle of the Amazonian Jungle every year and shakes everybody's hearts and minds.

It is intended to show the traditions of all brazilian people, however perhaps due to their location and their people they emphasize brazilian indigenous folklore.

Very worthwhile to take a look at...

The Sao Luis, Maranhao area, with good direct transportation options, has the Bumba Meu Boi traditional festival at the end of June, IMO a good bit less commercial and easier to access than that big production, but with spectacular costumes and interesting music.
There is a central exposition site, but also celebrations with costumed dancers, boi and music all over town, including one large one at the SESC out by the beach.
