airport to Makati at night
Hello! I'm scheduled to arrive at the Manila Intl. airport at 11am with Asiana Air (in a few weeks). I'll be originating in the US, starting in St. Louis and connecting through LAX before continuing on to Manila. The first leg of my flight is American Airlines and there is the potential for me to miss my connection in LA and have take the next flight available on Asiana. If that is the case, I will arrive at the Manila airport at 11pm rather than in the morning.I know the airport transport question has been asked a million times but I'm looking for opinions regarding my specific situation if possible. I'm a solo female traveler who will have a large suitcase and 2 surfboards and I'll be staying at the Tune Hotel in Makati. If I end up arriving late at night, what will be the safest and most efficient way to get myself and all of my stuff to the hotel in Makati. I don't want to spend a fortune on transport but I don't want to sacrifice security and convenience just to save a couple dollars.
Any advice on best mode of transport for security and lots of luggage at that time of night? Any safety concerns that are more common to night arrivals or is the experience the same any time of day/night?

This question has been asked a thousand times and replied to a thousand times and the answer remains the same. Change some money in arrivals making sure you get some 20 50 100 peso notes. Clear customs and walk 50 metres across the arrivals hall pushing your gear on a trolley, go out of the doors and turn left and you will see a row (line) of yellow taxis, Tell the dispatcher your destination and presumably having your boards go over back seat and passenger seat get in taxi. Tell driver your destination and make sure meter starts off at 70 pesos. On arrival you may find some street people wanting to help you with your luggage into the hotel, It may be a good idea - give them 20 peso tip or ask driver to help. Fare likely to be 200/300 pesos.Arriving at night isn't a problem as there are taxis waiting and less traffic although being a female alone you will worry but don't, again in Makati there may not be street people but if there are don't worry, you are not getting robbed, they are just trying to make some money for some rice. You do get people in your face all the time in the Philippines, don't let it worry you but take the precaution of once a week going completely ballistic and tell someone in your face to F Off

Given your luggage I would actually take the coupon taxi (there is a metered taxi and then a coupon taxi). Coupon taxi to Makati should be around P380-450. Yellow metered taxi is about the same going to Tune Hotel.
