Unlocking UK T-mobile iPhone 4 in Guatemala?
Hi, I am frustrated!I am going travelling for one year starting in Cuba on 30.11.12 then we fly to Guatemala city on 14.12.12 and then travel through south America to chile and on to n z and oz...
The problem-
I have completed a 2 year t- mobile contract and I have requested unlock so I can
Use the phone with SIMs from different countries so local calls are not costly ( as they would be with a UK SIM).
I have been told there is up to 28 working days for the unlock ( subsidy PIN) to be provided through Tmobile. The centre doing this based in the phillipines and has a huge back log. I have been told someone else is still waiting since 9 weeks ago making a request!!!
I have been told by Tmobile technical support that when I get the PIN I need a UK SIM to put in the phone for the first time after the unlock. I do not have a contract and pay as you go UK SIMs do not permit roaming where I am going.
Dies anyone know a solution which isn't too prohibitively pricey to unlock my phone before I leave the UK? I leave 30.11.12!

Google phone unlocking and pay the 5 or so quid for your choice of provider there to attempt to unlock your phone. (In the unlikely event they can't do it they will give you your money back). If they can't then you are a little screwed because the contract company has got you by the curlies but if the contract has ended the various "unlockers" should take care of it...4
I had my 3g unlocked here in Antigua, Q300, included a new Tigo chip and Q100 airtime. Done in less than a day.
