Nola

Hi guys
looking at being in Nola in mid Jan and taking a drive up to Natchez and back. Return maybe via Lafayette and the bayous taking a couple of days. Any general or specific advice - places to stay in Natchez or around Lafayette- around $120+ per night but can stretch the budget for something spectacular or special or iconic. Any food tips or hints? must eat or must eat at. All tips and advice gratefully accepted.

The Grand Hotel is right downtown, and a quick glance says it's right about your price range.
There are plenty of other roadside chains, Best Western, Hampton Inn, etc in the area as well.

Any food tips or hints?

What is your budget, in numbers, per meal/entree, with/without alcohol?

thanks guys - the accomodations budget could be stretched to $200 + a little bit for something wow. food the same really I'd sort of budgeted about $30 each for a dinner but again could go higher for something really special, but really we're after down home
