I looked into this too, but for the reverse direction, and concluded easiest and fastest was to fly (you have to go thru HCMC, no direct flights). Going by bus/boat would be cheaper, but require an overnight somewhere. To do it in one day looked to be very difficult, if not impossible. If we had more time we'd have gone the leisurely bus/boat route but ultimately decided to fly.2
Correct,fly to Saigon then catch the flight to PQ.
