travel from Kuala Lumpur to BangokHey !
I'm planning a backpacking trip from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok. I love taking photos, see new places and I really looking forward 3-4 weeks in Malaysia/Thailand.
My route so far:
Kuala Lumpur - Penang - Langkawi - Ko Samui - Bangkok
I'm wondering what other places I should visit on the way and best ways to travel?
Any feedback is good!

I would try to fit 2-3 days in PhangNga bay between your Langkawi & Samui travel if possible.

2I don't know how you want to balance your Thailand trip but there are many things to see on the way to BKK - eg Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi, Hua Hin to name just a few. I hope you will balance these beach places with places north of BKK which show off Thailand's cultural places, Khanchanaburi, Ayuthaya, Sukhothai, Chiangmai, Phimai, Phanom Rung, Udon Thani - you won't see everything but try to see some of it - too many people on TT think of Thailand just as a beach destination.

4Try a stop in the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia on your way up from KL to Penang.
In Thailand, the Trang islands are really pretty - but they're closer to Langkawi than Koh Samui so you'd be best doing them in between those 2 places.
And, like Paul said, there are some great places beyond Thailand's beaches. If you didn't want to go too far North, Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi are really easy to get to from BK - possible to day trip them from there, although I would definately recommending giving yourself a couple of days in each place.
