Pres. Obama's visit
I've read that the pres will be in PP on 19-20 November, during the Asean and East Asian summits. This will cause a fair bit of disruption but I'm wondering just how much. I had planned to arrive in PP on 21 November, but my friend who drives a hire car tells me that the roads will be closed for ten days, thereby bankrupting him.I'm assuming also that hotel rooms will be pretty scarce.
Could anyone give me a bit more info before I pay for my ticket from Sydney?
Thanks
.

There are so many rooms in Phnom Penh that you will never, ever, have a problem finding something. Security will be beefed up, and probably undercover security is each and every hotel in Phnom Penh. Will be extra safe during that period.2
It is a bit of unknown. Maybe if you were intending to stay at the top end Hotels, you may have a problem. I'm sure the budget backpacker places won't be booked up. Yes, some roads will be closed, but I'm sure by being a little flexible with your plans, you will be able to see all the attractions of PP and then head off to other areas.
