Quy Nhon

Looking for somewhere to break the journey between Hoi An and Nha Trang. We'll be travelling by train and planned to get off at Dieu Tri. I'm seeing mixed reviews about Quy Nhon. What do people think? Is there anywhere else in between? We're ok for time
Thanks

Stay longer at Quy Nhon-reduce time in Nha Trang. Better, cleaner beach. Nha Trang beaches are cr*p. Check out Natgeo 'world's worst beaches'.

Quy Nhon is a small, clean and quiet city. There are restaurants and hotels along the beach, including a large restaurant on the rocks at the southern end of the beach which has a lovely view of the entire waterfront. There is not a lot to see and do, but Quy Nho is a pleasant place to place to break your journey.

Thanks, going to stay there. just struggling with transport. Got the train booked from Hue to Danang for Hoi An. Don't seem to be able to book it to Deui Tri for Quy Nhon, only Nha Trang?
I've seen the Malinh minibus recommended and googled it but can't find a booking site.

Was planning 3 nights in Nha Trang, could change that to 2. I could then have an extra night in Mue Ne or HCMC. On the Vietnam leg I'd planned 4 in Hanoi, with one of those on a boat in Halong Bay, 2 in Hue, 2 in Hoi An, 2 in Que Nhon, 3 in Nha Trang, 3 in Dalat, 2 in Mue Ne and 4 in HCMC and the Delta
Thanks again

Bring good books and relax in Quy Nhon. 2 nights are enough for "Viami" (Vietnamese Miami). That's my nickname for Nha Trang.

Slightly regret not visiting Quy Nhon. The LP really talked it up but feedback online from other travelers was poor. Spoke to an expat in Nha Trang who really liked it.

Nha Trang is for Vietnamese and Russians. The backroads are fantastic, but the beach scene is not for me.

Hey Mooslie, for some one who clearly dislikes Nha Trang, why do you insist on living here?

ralph wrong! I don't dislike it. I think it's great for expats. However for tourists there are better options ...that's all!
Ralph for tourists I think the 5 'H's + 'S' are the best option.
HCMC
Hoi An
Hue
Hanoi
Halong Bay
Sapa
(Or vice versa)
Flying from HCMC to Da Nang saves a gruelling bus or train trip and saves a lot of time to enjoy the country.

Doménikos,
A tip, when you leave Nha Trang for Dalat, go by Phuong Trang Bus company, which runs eight or more trips per day along the new road. It takes 3.5-4 hours to do the 140km, compared with up to 6 hours along the old, 225km road via Phan Rang. Phuong Trang runs comfortable, 40 seat buses with safe drivers.

Many thanks, that's great. I'll give them a try. We need 3 buses, Nha Trang- Dalat, Dalat- Mue Ne and Mue Ne- HCMC. Apart from flying Hanoi to Hue we're doing the rest by train.
Thanks again
