Best time to ski in New Zealand

We're getting in early and thinking about a 2013 ski trip to Queenstown, New Zealand. I know that July and August are the best months but would anyone be able to advise a more specific time for the best snow? (We were considering late July) Any help would be appreciated :)

No one can predict snow but the below should help

It is impossible to make a general statement but you should pick, in order of importance:

A. Not NZ school holidays - the lines get really long for the two week periods.
B. Generally later is better, although this rule can fail... But August is traditionally seen as the best month. This year we got very late snow (July and August were a little light and September came out the winner)
C. Not Australian School Holidays
