Learn to dive, live aboard courses in Southern QldHi there!
I am visiting Southern Queensland in Jan 2013. I want to learn how to scuba dive, and lonely planet tells me a great way to do this is on one of the 5 day courses which can include a few days doing the live aboard thing. They only have names of places that do this in Cairns, and from google I can't seem to find anything further South.
Does anyone have any experience with scuba diving courses around Brisbane or Bundaberg? Ideally a live aboard one, if not any one that includes open water dives.
Any help would be much appreciated!

2years ago while in Cairns my brother took a padi course and was away for about 4 days came back with . had a super time he said
since i cannot scuba cos of wonky ear. my brother is a BIG guy and when we went on the day reef Quick silver snorkel trip he suited up for a dive and main reason he could was when they put on the weights one girl did not need many and those she did not need he put on i laughed and told him he looked like Pancho villa with trhose weights. but he went down his Padi course included night dives which he realy enjoyed

5totally disagree with redwhitewine. The diving off bundaberg is spectacular as its the southern end of the great barrier reef (lady musgrave or lady elliott island). Also there is still reefs down here around brisbane and different types of areas. Look up Manta Lodge on North Stradbroke island as they might do dive courses, there is grey nurse sharks off Straddie. Google dive courses from Brisbane and there is tonnes of them! even off the sunshine coast where i learnt to dive at Noosa i'm sure there is loads of places that do courses.
