Birthday ideas...Hello I'm turning 20 years old in January and for my birthday i want to backpack through Spain primary wanting to visit Madrid, Barcelona, and Ibiza...i need some ideas on which place to visit first second and third...since i work for an airlines the cost of the flight is quite minimal so how much should i expect to spend? My plans are to get in Spain on the 9th of January and probably spend 2 days and 3 nights in each city any ideas or other options i should think about?

1I was in Madrid one mid January and I was in the airport transiting so waiting for a connecting flight to the Canary islands. It was midday and there was a blizzard outside. It can get VERY cold there then (like Chicago which is also in the middle of a large country).
Barcelona is a bit hit and miss. It could be quite warm there that time of year, or very cold too. Ibiza is very quiet then with just locals and oldie expats. Don't expect Miami weather.
The south coast of Spain is best that time of year as it is normally sunny (though the nights can be a bit chilly) and lots to see along the Costa del sol as well as trips inland to Granada, Seville, etc. Also you can go along the coast to Gibraltar, Cadiz and even into Portugal. Or a short hop on a ferry to Morocco.

5probably spend 2 days and 3 nights in each city
That wil give you a total of 6 days and 9 nights.
How does that work, exactly?
Four different destinations in 9 nights--if you're suggesting you have to fly in and out of the same city--won't really give you enough time to scratch the surface of Madrid or Barcelona. Please note that people in these cities who want to party don't stop just because it's January. So if that's what you want to do, you could do worse than to limit yourself to these two destinations.
how much should i expect to spend?
When you first posted, there was a sticky thread directly above your post: "Budget or Itinerary Question? Please Read This First Before Posting."
I'd read it. But "night life and clubs wild" tend to be expensive, so I'd double the daily minimum for any nights you'll be partaking.

8Costa del Sol will probably be the warmest region in January.
I would bet for the Canary Islands as the warmest region in January.

9I was referring to the Spain mainland. Obvously you're not.

10I was referring to the Spain mainland. Obvously you're not.
Why should I refer to what you call the mainland if the OP only said Spain and was planning to go to Ibiza?
I'm thinking 4 days Madrid and 4 days Barcelona and visit ibiza another time
That could be a good idea. Visit Ibiza in summer when it gets wildest.

12What I meant with the first part of my post #10 is the OP asked about Spain (i.e.: without excluding any part of it) so I don't know why battybilly excluded parts of it (according to the explanation he provided in #9 about his post in #3).
