Barajas Airport Transportation to Madrid City CenterHi
- I will arrive at Madrid Barajas airport late at night 11.30 PM. I have 2 questions :**
*2) The ticket office at airport will be closed or opened ? and do the tourist pass cover the distance to madrid city center ? or should i buy a separate ticket to reach city center and 2nd day to buy the pass ?**

Welcome to TT!
1) which is the better way to arrive Sol station or Puerta del sol plaza.**
It depends on what do you understand by best. Your main options are:
Take a taxi or a shuttle service.
Take the exprés bus to Cibeles and walk to Sol.
Take the metro (it involves two changes along the route).
In any case, you'll be able to get a ticket at the airport.
What pass are you talking about (exactly)?

3When I arrived in Barajas T-4 I was going to take the Metro to Sol, metro tickets are I think Euro1.30, but from the Airport you can only buy a Euro 5 ticket, Lady there said it was an Airport addon fee... So instead I took the 24hr Shuttle which leaves from right outside also for Euro5. It stops at Cibeles near the Prado and easy walk to Sol area, and also stops at Atocha station. Everything is so close together for walking in Madrid if you're staying in town. I never did use the Metro. Arriving in Madrid late night is not a big deal as the place is hopping till the early hours .

4It stops at Cibeles near the Prado and easy walk to Sol area, and also stops at Atocha station.
Between 23:30 and 06:00 (a.m.) the bus doesn't end in Atocha but in Cibeles; i.e. between 23:30 and 06:00 (a.m.) the bus doesn't stop in Atocha. The bus services that start their route at 23:30 and 06:00 (a.m.) are excluded; i.e.: the buses at 23:30 and 06:00 (a.m.) are the last/first ones that go/start to/in Atocha.

7Right! I'm ready to head out again... Funny thing was that coming from the USA I was looking for a nice change of pace and I did get exactly that except after getting off the bus, at one of the 1st intersections there was a TGIF and a Starbucks...aghhh! I was amazed how many US restaurant franchises there are.. The only one I utilized was McDonalds for good wifi connection and clean bathrooms without having to buy anything....and they do have a Euro1 menu just like the $1 menu over here, with about the same things....cheap fillup if needed.
