Diving center in Maafushi, Guraidhoo or Thulusdhoo (South or N Male atoll)?

Hello,
I found reasonable priced guest houses from the local islands mentioned in the title. I failed to find any diving centres on these islands. Are there any? I have already contacted some guest houses to get information but so far no answers. Since we try to manage with low budget we want to go to some local island which is accessible by local ferry. Good quality diving and snorkling are important for us but we rather do daytrips than liveaboards.
We will spend 11 days somewhere in Maldives next February so we would be happy to hear any tips you might have regarding diving or snorkling. At the moment North Male atoll looks good option for us.
Thanks!

Hello, finn82.

Yes, there is a budget version of the diving on Maafushi island, which can be reached by local ferry boat from the Male'. In Summer Villa guest house is certified diving center and they organize diving for tourists. There is also a large diving centre on Biadhoo resort (you can reach from Maafushi on the boat for 5 minutes). But it will cost more expensive, than in the Summer Villa guest house. And snorkeling nearby Maafushi is amazing also. It is an opinion of many tourists.

hallo Katerina,

We decided to go to Maafushi based on your recoomandation. it sounds much more down to earth then all the fancy resorts on the other islands.
I would like to ask you about the prices of the dives in Maafushi, and also about good places to eat.

thank you,

yael.

Hello Yael,

You are absolutely right. The rest on Maafushi and all activities much more cheaper than Resorts. Confirmation of this is not only my own experience but also the experience of many tourists. You can read for example on tripadvisor.com.
Unfortunately I am afraid deep diving and I did not dive except snorkeling. Therefore I don’t know price and other details of it. But you can send e-mail on address: reservation@summervillamaldives.com and they will give you full last information about diving and organization of it.
Dinner in “Summer villa” is buffet. With the dessert. Every night they making candlelight. Very romantic! Breakfast is included in the price (also buffet). Lunch on request. You can order a la carte. You can buy at the store on their own products at low prices and in the kitchen for tourists to eat. This added convenience for me there. There is hot water kettle, toaster, tea and coffee free, dishes. You can do everything that you want. Complete freedom, just like at home. You can eat at other hotels or cafes. But it is not safe. Especially in “Yellow Rihendhy” and “WhiteShell”! Very expensive and slow in “Stingray”. And never eat in “Rocket café”! All experienced myself. Tourists from other hotels comes to eat in “Summer villa”.

Good luck and unforgettable holiday in Maafushi!

P.S. Yael, if you will have information about diving tell, please, on the forum. Thank you. Maybe I will try deep diving in the next time. :)
