Short Notice for Carnival Accom

Anyone have any idea about getting accommodation for Carnival at this late stage? We get to Rio either the morning of Feb 8th or 9th and would prefer to stay in a hostel but a private room as my wife has to work a little. Anything other than hostels we can look for? Maybe something away from the center of Rio?
