First time in Cambodia~Hi all, I am a 22 yr old guy, currently awaiting my university that would start next year, so I've decided to venture off to a nearby country for some exploration and enlightenment.. I have about 2 - 3 weeks to travel to Cambodia in mid Nov.. (I know its soon).
Its my first time going for a solo backpacking trip, I do know that there's a lot of places and attractions to see in Cambodia. So I tried to cut down the places to visit to only those that has been recommended on the forums and by other sites.
I am interested in the ruins of Cambodia, their culture, some night life at the bars would be good as well, besides that it'd be great to include bicycling and hiking to the plan as well. If there's time it'd be great if i could just chill out by the beach as well..
Regarding the budget wise... it'd great if it's kept minimal.. however i do know that it is the peak season for people to visit Cambodia now... so I guess I'm fine with around 50 US$ per day for lodging, sightseeing, food, transport. Or do I have to increase my budget??
I've came up with my itinerary(Its my first time...), would it be possible for those who had been there before to take a quick look at it and give their opinions on it? Would really appreciate any valuable inputs on this!
My itinerary is as follows:
Phnom Penh --- 1 night
Takeo / Phnom Da
Kampot / Kep --- 3 nights
Sihanoukville --- 1 or 2 nights
Phnom Penh --- 2 nights
Kompon Thom Or Battambang --- 1 / 2 night
Siem Reap --- 2 /3 nights
Battambang Or Kompon Thom --- 1 / 2 nights
If there's time Koh Thmei could be added after Kampot / Kep as well.
I have a few questions
1) Do i have to book my accommodation in advanced?
2) Is there any of the places i'll be travelling to be needing any advanced booking for transport such as Bus tickets or boat tickets?
3) Are the number of nights i spend on each area sufficient for me to travel about and enjoy the environment?
I'm doing this trip on my own currently, and would be great if I have a travel partner. So if you happen to travelling during the same time period, just drop me a message.
Thank you in advance for your inputs!

1For your first solo adventure, if you are flying into Phnom Penh, have your first nights accommodation booked, it will help when you are jet-lagged and culture shocked. Also if that hotel doesnt provide airport pickup, then post a question on Thorntree about the procedures of getting transport from the airport into the city, ie cost of taxi, approx time taken, where to get them etc. If you are going to be over charged or be lead astray, you're most vulnerable when just arriving in a new country. Regarding booking buses etc, I just book through the Hotel I'm staying in, although many advise trudging off to the bus station to sometimes save something. No need to book accommodation ahead generally unless some major festival or event is happening. Your itinerary seems OK.

3good advise about first night. i would stay an extra day in PP at the begining if you have had a long flight and lose a day there in the middle
you might consider losing Kompon Thom and Battambang from the schedule and go instead to Kratie after siem reap
With limited time I might consider booking the longer distance buses (not to takeo) in advance just to be sure but usually booking is not required
