Canadian working in Chad. 30km south moundou

I have a job opening 30 km south of moundou starting in march on a pipeline . I have never traveled to Africa and will be welding on the pipeline and was just wondering how safe this area would be. We will also be staying in a camp set up for us not Moundou.
Thanks for any information.

No-one would build a pipeline in a war zone: you can be confident that your security will be reasonably good in your workplace and in the accommodation they organise. However, concepts like 'health and safety at work' will be completely unknown, so you will have to look out for yourself in terms of risks of accidents.

Hi,

My name is Lina Nasser and I work as an editor for VRT, Belgian TV. We are currently researching possibilities for a documentary in Chad.

I am looking for a contact who could tell us more about in Moundo with regards to the oil industry and other topics.

Please contact me on lina.nasser@vrt.be.

Looking forward to hear you,

Lina
