Dec-Jan find work or NGO, also ride share, buddy.want to travel differently

I will travel in Australia from 6 Dec to 11 Jan. Sydney-Melbourne-Adelaide-Gold Coast-Brisbane-Cairns-Darwin.
Want to find NGO in Melbourne or Darwin, or any short term work or art studios.
Will spend Christmas in Melbourne or Gold coast, looking for host that love to share us their Australian Christmas.
Want to have a crazy and different travelling, appreciate your suggestion.

Ps. I am a year two university student in National University of Singapore. Open mind and love to meet new people. Especially love travelling and arts.

Seven cities in 5 weeks does not leave you a lot of time to work, (assuming you have a work visa of course). Perhaps volunteering to help the Salvation Army or some other charity serve Christmas dinner to the needy, in whatever city you find yourself for Christmas, might be your best bet.

Thanks for your reply,
how can I find Salvation Army or some other charity serve Christmas dinner to the needy?
Should I search on the website and email them whether I can go for it?
Do you know any websites or any charity name?
I find that serve Christmas dinner to the needy is a very nice one:)

Hmm, just did some googling and it may not be as simple as it sounds - volunteering for a charity now seems to need various kinds of registration forms. I don't live in any of the cities you mention so I don't have any local information. Somebody else here may be able to advise later.

Our local soup kitchen is generally overwhelmed with volunteers for Christmas dinner.
I would suggest googling Salvation Army in the places you are likely to be, then contacting them to see if they need help.

Right at the current time, Singaporeans cannot get the Aust WHV/Aust W&HV, so if your plan is to work for cash, you will be in breach of your visa conditions.

Even if you don't work for money, your work opportunities, as you call it, is very slim.

There is talk of adding Singapore to Aust's WHV/W&HV system, but that could be some time away at this point in time.

www.immi.gov.au does not list Singapore (if that's the OP's nationality) in the eligibility list for the Aust WHV/W&HV.

www.wwoof.com.au might be the one to go for.

But for volunteering these days, a police check MIGHT/most likely will be the main thing a person has to get.

The charity I go with, has this rule.

Though if the OP's nationality is Hong Kong, but studying in Singapore, then he/she ought to apply under that (Hong Kong) passport.

China is not in the list of eligible countries for the Aust WHV/W&HV either.
