Vietnam Backpackers Route!

In need of advice!!

I am heading to Hanoi in February 13th to begin my backpacking adventure! I will be travelling alone. I plan to spend a month in Vietnam but am unsure of what route to take and what places to go. Any advice people could give would be much appreciated!

So far the plan is- Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Hue, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc Island.

Is there anywhere else people would recommend, or places people would avoid?

Thanks, Tom.

You'll probably start with the travel aftershock of Tet-many Vietnamese will probably still be on the move.
Spend more time in places like Ninh Binh or Phu Quoc rather than boring places like Danang and Nha Trang.

If you want a nightlife then he cities will be what you want, if you like to chil and see more natural parts of the country then phu Quoc and Ninh Binh. Its a bit hard to advise someone when they dont state what they are wanting to see and do.

Ok thanks. I want to see the best beaches Vietnam has to offer-I would also like a chance to relax for a few days with a beer! I am less fussed about the major cities, but certainly want to stop by to experience them.

As I am travelling alone, I would like to try and meet up with other backpackers.
