Northern Thailand Itineraries questions..
Hello,I'm traveling to Thailand in two days.
I'll be staying in and around BangKok for four days,
then head south to some beach for two days.
Up til then I figured things out,
but it's my next 5 days I'm wondering of what to do,
as I'm heading to northern part of Thailand.
I'll be arriving at Chiang Mai by air,
and from then on I plan to go to Pai, Chiang Rai, Sukhotai national park, and Mae Hong Son province.
Obviously with only five days I have I need to decide which direction I will go from Chiang Mai to save time.
I'm flying out from Chiang Rai so that will be my last destination.
I'm thinking maybe once I see Chiang Mai,
I travel to Sukhotai then come back to Chiang Mai.
Then make my way to Mae Hong Son, then to Pai. and then lastly to Chiang Rai.
Would this work?
If not, which ways should I take to save more time and see more?
And if you know any guesthouses you can recommend of on these places, that'd be really great.
Any help you could give me would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!

"I plan to go to Pai, Chiang Rai, Sukhotai national park, and Mae Hong Son province"With only 5 days I think that might be a bit too ambitious. Think you will have to drop Sukothai.
Maybe go MHS, Pai back to CM then to CR..

HelloJust 5 days It's too short for Pai, Chiang Rai, Sukhotai national park, and Mae Hong Son. Go to Pai need as least 2 nights.Chiang Rai 2 nights,Sukhotai 2 nights ,(Pai it's in Mae Hong Son).
Perhaps stay just one place Chaing Mai or Chiang Rai instead , You can't see much thing if you want to visit many places (you might can do if you have private car to go to Pai and Chian Rai).
The beach for two days , where is your destinations about the beach?
If Andaman coast you'll need more 3 days, Otherwise visit the beach near Bangkok like Koh Samet it takes 3 and half hours to get there. (Take Bus at Ekamai BTS).
While you in Bangkok you can take Bus or train to Ayutthaya instead go to Sukhotai ^^
Hope this could help.

5 days is just enough for Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai .Do you know what you want to see in each of these towns ?If you are at either on a wkend "'walking streets''' are a must do ,in my opinion .Sukhothai is culturally and historically very interesting . It is quite some distance from Chiang mai ,I `m not sure that you could get there and back to Chiang Mai as a day trip .
