Myself and a few friends are over in Colombia for a couple of weeks over New Year. In early Jan we were thinking of getting one of the boat trips from Cartagena to San Blas. Only problem is we need to get back to Cartagena and don't want to either pay (and dont have the time) for another 5 day trip back to Cartagena. We would fly but the prices for a oneway flight are very high.
I can't find anything definite about times and prices for a fast boat back to Cartagena. I've read about a new ferry route but no one seems to know when its going start? I can find some infomation on Buses from Turbo back to Cartagena but nothing on how to get to Turbo from San Blas!
Alternatively if anyone new of a quicker and cheaper route to get to San Blas from Cartagena, then we would get the boast trip back the otherway!

2Two weeks is hardly enough time to see a small part of Colombia.

3Unfortunately the distance from Cartagena to the Panama coast is great and your time is little. Just getting from Cartagena to Turbo by bus and then by boat to Capurgana is usually a two day trip with a night in Monteria and that just gets you to or from the border. There is just no fast way to get to Kuna Yala from Cartagena or return unless you have an unlimited budget for flying.
Your time would be better spent exploring the islands and beaches around Cartagena and the north coast of Colombia which will be comparable.
