Day trips from Tokyo during festive 29th-31st December period?
Hello,I hope someone can answer my question, maybe local people?
I am going to Japan from 19th December to 1st December and I am aware of the fact that museums and attractions (and also shops, restaurants and hotels!) will be closed starting from the 28th December.
I was planning to stay 3 days in Tokyo at the arrival (19-20-21) and going to Nikko and Kamakura for a day trip, then going towards Hakone, Kyoto and Hiroshima (22-28). Then before leaving going back to Tokyo for the last 3 days (29 Dec-1Jan).
However, since Tokyo is quieter I was thinking maybe to move my day trips to Nikko and Kamakura and possible to Hakone (even if I like to stay one night here in an onsen hotel) at the end (28-29-30).
Do you think is a good idea? Basically I am interested in understand how empty Tokyo will be at the end of December and how busy Nikko, Kamakura and Hakone will be in the same period!
Thanks
