I always make a quick visit to the 7/11 for a bottle of Sangsom and a few small bottles of coke before boarding ..
I play the game to a certain level by also buying a few bottles of Coke from the buffet Car and thus getting a glass of Ice with it , they are normally quite happy to top up your Ice for you and even happier if you offer them a shot or so after the buffet has closed ...
Make for an interesting evening , the buffet staff are normally quite a good laugh once they are not working !!

You'd better stay in Chiang Mai dude. Their prices are very reasonably by Bangkok standards. It's quite easy to pay 130 baht for a small bottle in many of the pubs or restaurants in the city. 80 baht would be a happy hour price.16
