15Re business class, I'm reluctant to spend my own money on "luxuries" but there are occasions when I find something that gives me a bit extra sleep worthwhile. Most people find jet lag on west - east flights much more debilitating than the other way (if you're going east - west you have a really long day, but can sleep that off, whereas the other way the time gets all jumbled up and it takes longer to reset the body clock - of course the length of the flight has an effect too). Depending on the airline you're with there may be an in-between class - I think Virgin and Qantas call it Premium Economy, and British Airways call it TravellerPlus. You might just find that gives you a bit more leg room, probably a smaller cabin so fewer people walking up and down, but without the joys of a full length bed (and the costs that go with it)

18"Do you think itll be worth the extra money to upgrade to business class?"
If you have access to unlimited cash - yes.
If you don't the $100s ($1,000s?) you'd save by going economy class would be better spent making your European trip even better (upgrading accommodation, better meals, more nightlife etc).
