Bali next week - need some advice in day trips planning!
Hi everyone, I just confirmed to go to Bali next Monday for 5 days and have limited time to do research. I'll travel with my mother (both first time to Bali), gonna book a private driver for easy getting around.Below is my tentative itinerary, would be so glad to have some advice on the planning from you guys, thanks heaps!!
Day 1: arrive Bali in afternoon, Check in hotel in Nusa Dua. Free time.
Day 2: Mount Agung, lunch at Bali Asli restaurant, Tirtaganga, Sideman, Uluwatu Sunset
Day 3: Check out Nusa Dua hotel, Check in hotel in Seminyak. Free time.
Day 4: Mount Batur, Lake Batur, Oka Agrowisata Bali coffee plantation, Tegallalang rice fields, Tanah Lot sunset.
Day 5: Free time. Flight at 4pm back home.
Basically I can only go for two full day excursions. I prefer a more relaxing schedule on Day 2 than Day 4, as I would like to spend a bit more time in the Nusa Dua hotel.
I know there are lots to see in Bali that couldn't be fitted all in a 5-day itinerary. The places I do want to go are the picturesque rice fields, famous temples and some mountain sceneries.
Can anyone give me some tips and advise? Thanks!!
Ruby.

Well, good luck!!You are going to see more stuff in 5 days than we have seen in 25 days, you have to understand balinese roads are not up to western standard so in your day 2 you are going to spend more time on the car than on the sites. If you are going to Tirtta ganga for the water palace I can tell you it is not worth it but there are nice views of rice fields from several view points

Bring your swim shorts to Tirta Ganga. Go early and have the whole palace and pool to yourself. It is a fantastic destination. East Bali very scenic. Enjoy. http://www.palacesofbali.com/3
Thanks for all the tips!! =)My intention to go to Tirtaganga is solely for a few photo shots since it's on my way to Mt Agung and lunch at Bali Asli (which is greatly recommended for food and view).
Would you recommend the scenaries around Mt Batur over Mt Agung? If so, may be I should skip Mt Agung in Day 2 and just go for Sideman and Uluwatu temple for sunset..?!

The second day sounds pretty hardcore to me - are you planning to climb Agung during the day? Most people choose to do it at night to avoid the heat and be at the summit for the sunrise.Unless you are super fit and plan on rushing up and down expect to spend at least half a day there. From my experience you are going feel more like relaxing than sightseeing after the climb and I don't consider myself unfit.
The day two is doable though, but I am pretty sure you are going to sleep really well that night:)

If you're looking to see any shows in the evening, you can check out the Devdan show. We saw it and it was awesome! http://indohoy.com/?p=2675
