Accomodation in New york and Boston

Hi All,

i am planning a tip to Boston and NY in April 2013, I am looking at accomodation and it seems that all central hotels are very expensive ( around 300 USD ) a night, also i saw some bad reviews about some places,.....it looks like there is a very high risk to pay a lot of money for a crapy place.....

Any suggestion on clean, affordable central accomodation in both cities ?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

You are more likely to get more answers if you put your question in the Americas-United States of America branch.

One of the US regulars posted this on the US info thread. Cheap NYC hotels. Scroll down.

You might want to look into airbnb! I know a lot of people, including friends, find reasonably priced accommodations on airbnb instead of shelling out the cash to stay at a hotel in midtown (which imo as a local is not a lot of fun, unless you like really crowded areas).

I'm going to give the same warning that is included when anyone suggests renting an apartment for short term in NYC.

NYC has a ban on rentals under 30 days. They are illegal. Often, people advertising these are scammers. You run the risk of being evicted or worse, scammed out of your money.

So, I suggest you either adjust your budget or find someplace cheaper.
