how fast I can get to Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri?

Hi,

does anyone know how fast I can get to Ratanakiri from PP and to Mondulkiri from PP? I know that there were some upgrades, and I wonder if the road is in good condition nowadays.

Thanks a lot.

Sen Mororon is about 8 hours from PP and Ban Lung is about 12 hours. The road to SM is good, new road, the road to Ban Lung is dirt for last 3 hours or so from Steng Treng.

From PP to Banlung, Ratanakiri: Some stretches of road are better than before. Some are worse. You're still looking at 10-12 hours by Sorya bus.

Those times were by bus and maybe quicker than that, depends on traffic in PP. Minivans canbe quicker but tend to be packed.

I travel Banlung- PP frequently with my own car, going the shortcuts via Chhlong and Prey Veng, distance is 482 km Norden House Banlung to Eureka Villas PP. It normally takes me 8 hrs, including stops for food and gas.
I drive slowly as I always have my small daughter with me.
Herbie, the road is paved all way now and the last stretch to Banlung is probaly one of the best roads in Cambo..

Minivans takes one passanger per seat and cost 25000 riel, ($ 12,5).

I took a minivan from Ban Lung to Stung Treng and it was really good, nothing like other minivans in Cambodia, new plenty of seats and space, don't remember the cost but not expensive.

So...are there buses or other relatively inexpensive public transport between Ban Lung and Sen Monorom on this upgraded road?

Thanks

CC, there is no upgrade road between Banlung SM. Lumphat to Koniek is a sandy track.

For those adventurers, you can go on the back of a moto for $60, take all day. Distance Banlung to SM is 195 km
